Are Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry dating? That's for sure is what's going on in the minds of curious Robsten followers.

The couple sightings are getting a little frequent. In a month, they've been seen together at least twice. The first one at the Bowery in New York while enjoying a Daughter concert and then just days ago, crashing into a wedding rehearsal in Santa Barbara where they got onlookers both surprised and intrigued.

Rob and Katy are now both single surviving split ups from Kristen Stewart and John Mayer, respectively. According to sources, Katy's experience in her tumultuous split from ex-husband Russell Brand last year must be useful at this point as she helps a good friend cope with a similar break up.

The Twilight Saga hottie and the Teenage Dream singer reportedly baffled onlookers when they recently sat in a wedding rehearsal to watch two strangers practice in San Ysidro Ranch near the place where Katy grew up.

A guest at the rehearsal told People.com "Katy and Rob were just sitting next to each other watching the wedding rehearsal in the main courtyard area. They were dressed very casually.

Katy was apparently clad in a hoodie and wearing big sunglasses. The source said there were no clear signs that the two were dating, though. They were not particularly affectionate based on their body language.

"They were not affiliated with the wedding party and were not seen mingling with guests," the source added.

Gossip columns have been recently bombarded by news of the 27-year-old British actor dumping his girlfriend, Twilight co-star, Kristen, 23. Many claim the split was caused by the unresolved issue of Kristen's brief fling with married director Rupert Sanders.

The Twilight pair broke up as soon as Kristen's fling was exposed last year. They reconciled months after until recently when they decided to split, this time looking like it's for good. Rob has since pulled out all his belongings from Kristen's Los Feliz abode.

As a friend, the 28-year old Katy is said to be not a believer of reconciliation. This is what she allegedly advised Rob saying that the actor deserved better.

"Katy never really supported Rob's decision to get back with Kristen. She always said they wouldn't last," a source told Life & Style magazine.

"Katy told Rob she didn't think their relationship could withstand the cheating scandal. And he deserved better than someone who would destroy a family (like Rupert's)," the source added.

According to sources, Rob cannot simply trust Kristen anymore. Much as he tried to put the affair behind, he is finding it difficult to believe what Kristen says is a "completely innocent" association with Sanders.

Recently, Rob said he's never been happier until the break up. "Rob has never felt so free. He no longer has to feel weighted by a girlfriend. Instead of being bummed that his relationship hit a wall, Rob is simply glad to only have to be in charge of himself," a source said.

Rob is said to have been weighed down by Kristen's over dependence on him. The four-year age difference between them has reportedly made Rob feel like he was taking care of a child at times. Eventually, according to sources, it became too tiring for the actor.

The age difference also spells their diverging priorities. While Rob wants to take his career seriously and take it to the next level, Kristen allegedly is concerned more with other things.

"Kristen keeps blowing up his phone but he's not trying to get dragged back into the past, so he's not really picking up," a source said.

If Rob is determined to brush Kristen aside, then it should only be a matter of time before he's seen with another girl in town. Could it be Katy? Who knows, they've been good friends and they seem to hit it off well. And two beaten hearts getting together is not always a bad idea. They may be sharing more things in common than they actually realise.
