Robert Pattinson attended his very first Met Gala on Monday, strutting on the red carpet looking all lovey-dovey with rumored fiancée FKA Twigs wrapped around his arm. The star-studded soiree marked the couple’s first appearance at an official event, and they had no hesitations in showing off their love as they posed for photos together at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.

Rob and FKA Twigs made sure to make their debut as a couple on the red carpet in style -- the 28-year-old “Twilight” star looked dashing in his sleek black-and-white tuxedo while the 27-year-old British singer, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, turned heads in her multi-colored gown embedded with sketches of body parts. The eyebrow-raising gown, designed by Christopher Kane, also had a pink cartoon penis appearing on the singer’s left thigh, Entertainment Tonight stated.

The two stars started dating each other back in September last year after they bonded over music, a source told Us Weekly. FKA thought Rob was “unbelievably handsome” and even though she hated “vacuous attention,” she was willing to tolerate it to be with her boyfriend. They have been inseparable since the engagement rumors, having even lived together while Rob calls FKA his “greatest love.”

Early in April, rumors about the two being engaged came to light after T-Pain let the news slip in an interview with Vulture, although he took it back later and claimed that it was only an April Fools’ joke. However, People confirmed on April that the duo was in fact planning to tie the knot any time soon and FKA showed off what appears to be her engagement ring in an Instagram photo shot by her stylist last week. Moreover, the singer also accessorized her colorful gown with the same ring during the Met Gala.

The annual Met Gala, dubbed as the Oscars of fashion, had celebrities boasting their high fashion ensembles and it is also the time when Hollywood collides with designers, models, athletes and other A-list personalities. Other notable couples who made their red carpet debut were Derek Jeter and Hannah Davis and Katy Perry and Diplo; the latter were former flames and had rumors of getting back together sparking. Rob and FKA did not have to worry about running into RPattz' ex and “Twilight” costar Kristen Stewart though, as she is currently in Seoul for Chanel's annual resort show.
