You know when Robert Pattinson is in town. Screaming of millions of tween fans reverberates blocks away. But the pinup hunk was a “shy, timid and reserved boy” as a teen, says British model, Lucy Flower who was with Robert in his first “shirtless” photo shoot. It was in 2001 when Robert first stripped before the camera. He was just 15. No one could be more surprised than the English beauty, Lucy Flower who was Robert’s first female partner in his first project. Flower recalled in an interview with the Star on April 13, 2009, that the shy boy she was posing with for the retro-style Miu Miu swimwear twelve years ago, would rise to stardom and become an international superstar that he is today.

Robert was with Flower in his first photo shoot in London for the South China Morning Post’s weekend magazine.

"Frankly, it didn't click at all when our photographers called me last December to ask if I recognized the handsome Twilight actor getting all that buzz." Lucy, was quoted as telling Star.

"Robert was such a shy, reserved little boy back then, I never would have thought he had that kind of superstardom ahead of him!"

Flower noted that Robert mentioned at that time that he had already done some catwalk work. But it was Robert’s first time to work shirtless, let alone with a “girl.”

"Robert told me he had done a little bit of catwalk work but that this was the first time he had ever done a photoshoot with a girl," said Lucy.

"Also, I don't believe he was very comfortable with the outfit he had to wear and the fact that he was shirtless. So it's not surprising that he was so quiet and seemed so nervous that day."

The British model even recalled that Robert’s mom, Clare a modeling agency talent scout, spoke more words than the Twilight actor. She said: “She was quite lovely," remembered Lucy, adding “and she talked far more than her son!"

Lucy pursues her modeling career she began with Robert. At about the time Robert was trying to make way for his music and modeling career, Lucy was trying out for Britain’s Next Top Model, Cycle 2 in 2006. Only two years after that Lucy was surprised to see his co-model propelled to stardom that no one, especially her could ever fathom.
