Italian manager Roberto Mancini will now take the shots at Turkish club giants Galatasaray AS, after penning a three-year deal ahead of the latter's Champions League clash with Juventus on Wednesday.

Gala has officially released a statement on Sept 24 stating that now ex-manager Fatih Terim has not accepted a two-year offer after coming up with just one win in their domestic league out of their first four games coupled with a 6-1 thrashing by Spanish giants Real Madrid CF.

"After Fatih Terim's rejection of our two-year contract offer, the Galatasaray board have been obligated to find new solutions," said the statement issued by Galatasaray's board of directors cited on uefa.com.

The board thanked him for his contributions to the team and wished him well for his future endeavors with the Turkish national team.

A former Galatasaray defender himself, Tehrim won the Turkish Super League and Turkish Super Cup as a manager, including a quarter-finals stint in the 2012/13 season of the Champions League.

On the other hand, newly appointed manager Mancini is known for turning the tides of two prominent teams in the football world such as FC Inter Milan and Manchester City FC.

He was replaced by former Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini during the summer despite leading City to their first title in 2012, since the inception of the Premier League in 1992.

"I am very happy to arrive at a big club like Galatasaray," said Mancini.

"I decided to join a great community. The Galatasaray v Juventus match will be a happy coincidence for me."
