Pope Francis has decided to auction his 1,585cc Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glid for charity. The rocker bike was donated to the supreme pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church in June 2013.

Along with it, an XL sized Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary leather motorcycle jacket will also be auctioned off. Both items have the pope's signature - the motorcycle on its tank.

The Bonhams auction house will conduct the auction Feb. 6. The proceeds will be used to raise much needed funds for Caritas Roma, a Catholic charity based in Rome. The funds will help construct a soup kitchen and hostel for the homeless in Rome.

The successor of Benedict XVI received the motorcycle as Harley-Davidson marked its 110th anniversary in 2013.

"We hope to be able to do both Pope Francis and Harley-Davidson proud by raising a significant amount of money for a very worthy cause," Ben Walker, head of motorcycles at Bonhams, told reporters.

The two distinguished items will be sold separately. Bonhams forecasted bids for the motorcycle could hit between $16,000 and $20,000.

During the ceremony, it was reported that around 800 motorcyclists on their bikes participated and gathered at St. Peter's Square.

In the event, Pope Francis blessed the assembly and cautioned the rides that love for God should not be "replaced by fleeting human idol," referencing to the Harley-Davidson bikes.

It is unknown if the pope ever rode his Harley-Davidson. He is best known to prefer buses and trains.
