Roger Federer Makes it Easy Juggling Priorities Between New Babies and Tour

Roger Federer is back on tour a week after his wife Mirka gave birth to their second set of twins. He missed the Madrid Open but participated in the Italian Open where he was ousted early in the tournament by French Jeremy Chardy.

In a news report by ESPN.com, Federer's decision to play back on tour is completely supported and backed by his wife Mirka. Even though his family is growing with the latest addition of their twin boys, Federer was able to juggle his priorities being a father and an athlete at the same time.

"Don't expect his schedule to change much now that he has four kids," wrote the Web site.

Federer, apparently, had a nippy discussion with Mirka and his team about the decision to play again, following the birth of the twins. Mirka and his team had no qualms about Federer playing on tour, so the 17-time Grand Slam champion just went for it. "They all said I should quickly come and play," Federer chanted. "So, I was like, 'Okay, if you don't want me around, I'll go away," Federer added.

"That was basically it."

Now that Federer has two more kids, the conflicting priorities of being with his family and playing tennis can be wearisome, but not for him. He admitted missing his newborns, Mirka, and his two girls, but now that he's back competing again, he is hopeful to still be able to "play some good tennis."

"This time around, we kind of know how to handle kids on the road."

"I'm aware that it's going to be a lot of work, but at the same time, I know what I'm getting into."

Before he faced and lost to Chardy, Federer revealed that he wasn't really keen on getting a "big break" at the Italian Open. "It doesn't matter whether I play five matches or one match here, as long as I stay with the pulse of things on tour." He said that at the moment, he has totally "different priorities."

Federer didn't fall short of his responsibility as a husband to Mirka. He had certainly shown how to prioritise when everything seemed significant. He easily juggled his career priorities and personal life, like when he had pulled out of the Madrid Open tournament for the birth of his twins.

After the Italian Open, Federer's agent Tony Godsick said in a report by Ottawacitizen.com that the Swiss athlete has every intention to play in the French Open.
