It's rare to see a Roger Federer or Novak Djokovic lose deep into the Grand Slam tournaments and it's even more rare to see both go via an upset-- on the same day-- as witnessed in the recent semifinals of the men's singles competition of the 2014 US Open.
Marin Cilic of Croatia defeated Federer of Switzerland in just three sets, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 while Kei Nishikori of Japan took care of Djokovic in four sets, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 to pull-off the double underdog victory in the final four round of the final Grand Slam of the year.
No 18th Majors title for Federer this year and no additional Grand Slam title for the world no. 1 Djokovic.
