Roger Federer: 'Novak Djokovic has no weakness'
Roger Federer said Novak Djokovic has erased all his weakness in playing tennis, but the Swiss Maestro believes it would be difficult for the Serb to continue rolling, with other tennis players finding ways to bring “Djoker” down from the top of the tennis world.
“Novak has erased all his weaknesses,” Federer said, reports Gulf News. “While he does everything to keep his position, the others too will be preparing to find ways on how to bring him down.”
Federer parted ways with his childhood idol and coach Stefan Edberg last week and opted to have Ivan Ljubicic on his side. Ever since his stint with Edberg in 2014, Federer has not won any Grand Slams. But under Ljubicic, the 34-year-old Swiss believes he could become a better player and win more games, including another major title.
Meanwhile, Federer has already outlined his plans for the next season, where he is also expected to participate at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. According to BBC, Federer will partner former Wimbledon champion and compatriot Martina Hingis for Switzerland in the mixed doubles in Rio.
"I looked up to her when I was younger, I thought she was the most unbelievable talent," Federer said. "She's almost my age and she was winning Grand Slams while I was still at the national tennis centre and I couldn't believe how good she was."
Hingis, also a Swiss professional tennis player, spent a total of 209 weeks as world No. 1 in the WTA rankings. The Swiss Miss has won five Grand Slam titles in singles category and 11 in playing doubles. She also set the record for the youngest ever Grand Slam champ and World No. 1 prior to ligament injuries in both ankles, which forced her to withdraw temporarily from pro tennis in 2002.
