Swiss Professional Tennis Player Roger Federer has reached 1 million followers on Twitter. "We just got to 1M #Rfans, thanks a million guys, #feelingthelove" tweeted Federer. The tennis player achieved the 1 million followers mark Nov 4 only after 6 months of joining the popular social networking Web site.

Federer joined Twitter in May 2013. "A little blue bird told me that the place to be is Twitter, so here I am," he tweeted for the first time. Ever wondered who were the first Twitter accounts he followed? All four Slams, as reported by Tennis SI.

This tennis player, who currently ranks no. 6 in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), has already built a strong following on Facebook. His official Facebook page has over 13 million likes right now. It will be in no time all his Facebook fans will follow him in Twitter. He may even surpass Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic who presently have 5 million and 2 million followers, respectively.

Federer always keeps his followers up-to-date with what is going on in his life, be it on and off the tennis court. He had already participated in a Twitter Q&A before. On Oct. 29, he initiated a brand new form of interaction with his fans where he would reverse the Q&A.

"I enjoyed #AskRF the last time, but let's mix it up and reverse the Q&A, I would like to ask you guys some questions and I will retweet the best answers #AskedRF," he tweeted.

It is really nice how celebrities try to reach out to their fans, even though not in a personal manner.

Currently, Federer is competing in the ATP World Tour Finals. He has just defeated French tennis player Richard Gasquet in London, and he is determined to stay in the finals to win his seventh title in his 12th consecutive finals campaign by Monday.
