'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story': Characters with 'murky pasts' make 'huge compromises'
Riz Ahmed talked about what to expect in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” when it comes to some of the characters, in a recent interview. Meanwhile, a Lego toy teases more details about one of the Rebel characters who is a part of the team tasked with stealing the plans for the Death Star.
Speaking with The Wrap, Ahmed (Bodhi Rook) said that the film is about “complex characters and loyalties” and characters that have “murky pasts.” Some of the characters in the movie will be making “huge compromises,” according to the actor.
The actor teased that the movie is “a little edgier” when compared to the other movies from the franchise. This is the first spin-off film, so the tone is expected to be a little different from the main saga that is focused on the Skywalker family.
Ahmed’s character is a pilot who will take a team of Rebels with the aim of stealing the plans of the Death Star. The actor previously described his character as “a little intense” and “a little volatile” in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
Bodhi Rook is also a complex character apparently. Ahmed said that his character will have to question his own loyalties as the movie progresses. Will the Rebel have a moment of weakness and consider switching over to the Empire’s side?
Meanwhile, the description of the character Commander Pao from a Lego toy teases some details about the character, Star Wars underworld reports. The character is a member of the Rebel team led by Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones). According to the description Pao is a “fierce amphibious Drabata.” When he charges into battle it is his custom to shout “Sa’Kalla!” as his battle cry.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is set to be released on Dec. 15 in Australia. The movie will mark the return of Darth Vader to the big screen.
