'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story': Meet the hero team and the villains including Director Krennic

Details about the heroes and the villains in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” have surfaced online. Names of the important characters and some background information have been teased in a new report about the movie.

The official preview of a companion book of the movie has been teased on Flickering Myth. The protagonist of the movie is a young warrior named Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones). She leads a team of Rebels to steal the plans of the Death Star super weapon of the Empire.

Jyn is joined by Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), an officer of the Rebel Alliance. Baze (Jiang Wen) is a freelance assassin and Bodhi (Riz Ahmed) is a rebel soldier.

Two CGI characters will be a part of the Rebel team. Pao is an alien and is described as a “fierce warrior.” The other CGI character’s name is Bistan, who is also described as a “fierce warrior.” Donnie Yen plays the role of a “spiritual warrior” named Chirrut.

The Rebels have to steal the plans of Death Star in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” to help the Rebel Alliance look for any weakness that it may have. The weapon will be prepared for its first test in the movie.

While the heroes have been tasked with stealing the plans of the Death Star, the villain Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) will focus his efforts on preventing that from happening. According to the companion book, he is the Director of the Imperial Military.

Director Krennic will be assisted by the Death Troopers, whose sole aim is eradicating the members of the Reel Alliance. The familiar Stormtroopers are also featured in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” The movie will also mark the return of Darth Vader, the most dreaded villain in the whole galaxy.
