Ronda Rousey Dashes Hope of Mayweather Bout; Says Idea of Man Fighting a Woman is Terrible
Like the Dream Match between unbeaten American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr and Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, there is little chance that a speculated bout between Money May and top MMA fighter Ronda Rousey would ever happen.
No less than Ronda herself doused cold water on the match, pointing out that the idea of a man fighting a woman in the octagon ring is a terrible idea. However, for the sake of whetting the imagination of mixed martial arts fans, she shared the opinion of UFC President Dana White that she would hand Mayweather his first loss in the UFC Octagon.
But if the bout were simply limited to boxing, Ronda - the UFC women's bantamweight champion - conceded she would lose to the WBA and WBC welterweight titleholder.
At the UFC 175 press conference on Friday, Ronda said, "You would never report me saying something like 'I think that Floyd Mayweather is the best boxer that ever lived, an actual, technical boxer.' Of course Floyd would box the hell out of me if it was a boxing match. But boxing is a limited form of fighting, and we're a much less limited form of fighting and I've trained my whole life to prepare for things he hasn't prepared for. I prepare to get hit and to be taken down."

UFC's Dana White Says Floyd Mayweather Would Lose in a Match vs MMA Fighter Ronda Rousey
White shared Rousey's thinking about male versus female ring combats, saying, "We don't condone men vs women fighting."
Rousey will defend her UFC title on July 5 in a match against Alexis Davis. It is her fourth straight title defense, which is the co-headliner for the UFC 175 bout for the middleweight title between Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida.
