The leaked firmware of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version is viable for rooting process and works perfectly for those who ported the software on Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition. This means that the SuperSU root app adapts to the latest Jelly Bean OS.

Rooting of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Now Possible

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is not yet out but developer Chainfire managed to make SuperSU application adapt for Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. According to Chainfire, the root works on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition variant with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware which leaked days ago having a build version of JWR66N.S005.130625. So far, it is the first Android 4.3 that can be rooted out there.

"It remains to be seen if all of the protections that have been circumvented have been Samsung's doing or if some of them are actually normal for Android 4.3. For example, Android processes have their binding set of capabilities 0'd out. I've not personally seen that before on other firmware, so I'm not sure if that's Samsung's doing or something 4.3. It prevents processes from performing certain actions - even if the process manages to execute code as root user - like mounting the system read/write. Just to be clear, this root does not suffer from this issue," according the SuperSU developer, Chainfire.
