Former professional boxer-turned-trainer Roy Jones Jr. opined that undefeated champion Floyd Mayweather is "not the best he's ever seen at boxing."

The 37-year-old American holds a 47-0-0 record, 26 coming by way of knockout, and can still put on a clinic on any given night to challengers younger than him.

However, the Olympic silver medalist, who was also a decorated and feared boxer fighter during his prime, believes that Pretty Boy's tactical soundness gives him the edge over his opponents inside the ring, but he is definitely not the greatest.

"Of course I'm impressed with the way he's been able to monopolize the money side of it," he told fighthype.com.

"He was the smartest guy that ever [came] through as far as making money."

"I haven't seen nobody (sic) come through and generate the money that he's generated in the sport of boxing. So you gotta give him props for that."

"Boxing skills...I ain't going to say he's the best I've ever seen at boxing, but he's the smartest I've ever seen for sure."

When Jones was asked what could have gone down had he met Mayweather with both of them in their prime, he responded with gusto: "Come on, man. This is Roy Jones Jr. Do we have to discuss that? Roy Jones Jr. during his prime against what? Godzilla, King-kong, who?"

Meanwhile, Jones, who is currently preparing Jessie Vargas for an undercard fixture for the "Clash of Cotai II," wherein Manny Pacquiao and Chris Algieri will be slugging it out for the main event, thinks that the undefeated Algieri can give "Pacman" a run for his money.

"From what I hear, Algieri is looking real good," he said.

"He can make a tough night for Pacquiao because Pacquiao is getting a little bit older."

"We don't know if Pacquiao will have power if he's forced to move as much. That's definitely a chess game."
