The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are facing another case of invasion of privacy when their voicemail was hacked by staff working for Rupert Murdoch's defunct News of the World tabloid. Prince William's message telling Kate that he almost got shot by blanks was revealed in London court on Thursday, Dec. 19.

The jurors of Britain's phone hacking trail read the intercepted messages left by Prince William on Kate Middleton's phone, in which he confessed how he had nearly been shot with blank bullets while at the military academy Sandhurts. The second-in-line to the throne also said in the voicemail that he was running around the woods of Aldershot and accidentally walked into a regiment ambush that almost got him shot.

The voicemail reads: "Hi baby. Um, sorry, I've just got back in off my night navigation exercise. I've been running around the woods of Aldershot chasing shadows and getting horribly lost, and I walked into some other regiment's ambush, which was slightly embarrassing because I nearly got shot."

He went on: "Not by live rounds but by blank rounds, which would have been very embarrassing, though."

The recording of messages to Kate from William was discovered at the home of private investigator Glenn Mulcaire in 2006, prosecutor Andrew Edis told the Old Bailey criminal court.

Other messages were read out on Thursday including a message left for Prince Harry by a male impersonating Chelsy Davy saying: "You are the best looking ginger I have ever seen."

And according to NoW, the message was left by his brother William. "It's lovely out here in Africa and hopefully I'll see you very soon you big hairy fat ginger," went on by the message.

There are seven people who are convicted of hacking the Royal's phone, including former News of the World editors Andy Coulson and Rebekah Brooks. According to the prosecutors, Middleton's name was on the list of Mulcaire's phone hacking targets.

Mulcaire has noq pleaded guilty for phone hacking while the three senior journalists also admitted conspiracy for tapping the couple's mobile messages.
