The Duchess of Cambridge and Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon is reported to have created a new friendship. The pair met last month at a charity event during the royal tour where Kate Middleton accompanied her husband, Prince William for a trip around Canada and then making a brief visit to Los Angeles. Kate was introduced to Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon and it seems a friendship has blossomed.

Kate is said to be a huge fan of the America's sweetheart, while Reese on the other hand is enthralled by Britain's royal family. "They're both high-profile women and newlyweds so they instantly bonded," a friend of Witherspoon told the Life & Style publication. "Two of Kate's favorite Witherspoon movies are Walk the Line and Legally Blonde," the insider said.

Reese expressed her excitement for the royal wedding earlier this year, just after her own nuptials to Jim Toth in April. While on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Reese revealed that she was "absolutely" more excited about watching Prince William tie the knot with Kate than she was about her own wedding.

Middleton was all smiles as the two lovely new friends sip on cocktails, chatted and laughed during the reception at the Launch of Tusk Trust's US Patron's Circle in Santa Barbara, California. Witherspoon sported an orange dress for the event while Kate wore a navy and white crochet top and a white pleat skirt. Life & Style are reporting that the pair got along so well that they exchanged information after the event and have been on constant communication by emailing and calling each other ever since.
