No less than the governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, Glenn Stevens, has said on Wednesday that many Australian renters would need parental help to buy a property in Sydney. However, there is a way for one lucky person to own a $3.8-million beachfront home in Sydney for only $5.

The house is the prize of a nationwide raffle by the RSL Art Union to help raise funds for veterans. The house is spread on 298 square metres floor area. Found in Carrington Parade, Freshwater, the four-bedroom house has multiple panoramic views of the ocean seen from the rooftop terrace, upstairs retreat, first floor open-plan living area, kitchen and dining room, reports 9News.

RSL purchased in 2014 the 1913 cottage, previously owned by one family for more than 100 years, for $2.2 million and rebuilt it to have the property raffled off. There are over 2 million chances or tickets for sale. People could buy as many tickets. However, Daily Telegraph points out that more than half of the 2 million plus tickets have been sold.

Tracey Bishop, general manager of RSL Lotteries, says, the house is built on one of the most spectacular pieces of land in the area. “We’re hoping the winner enjoys having a new home where they can sit on the veranda watching the ocean and whales go by,” Bishop adds.

The winner gets more than just the house but includes furniture and electrical appliances worth $160,000, and rates and water paid for the first 12 months. There will be a draw to announce a winner and the lucky chap could move in the most expensive beach house to be raffled off in Australia in early October 2016.
