Russell Brand doesn’t have any regrets about marrying Katy Perry. The British comedian admitted he’s had a few regrets in the past, but his marriage to the American pop star wasn’t one of them.

The 39-year-old “Arthur” star was in the breakfast program “Today Show” in the U.S. to promote his book “Revolution.” When the conversation hit his short marriage to the 29-year-old “Roar” songstress, Brand only had positive things to say about her.

“I really enjoyed it,” he told host Matt Lauer when asked if he has regrets about marriage. “Katy Perry is an amazing person.”

He also admitted, though, that the end of his marriage led him to sulk for a while in his pyjamas.

“What happened was after you get married, like anyone who’s been married or come out of a relationship, you obviously have a lot of expectations. And if don’t expectations don’t work out, then it’s probably time to grow a big beard and walk around in pyjamas. That’s my advice,” quipped the actor.

Neither Perry nor Brand has given the reason for their split, though Perry has been vocal about her feelings after their doomed marriage.

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in August, the chart-topper said that she neglected to love herself enough while married to Brand.

“Now I know – first and foremost, self-love, and then give love away,” she said of the lesson she learnt from her divorce. “Back then it was mostly just me giving love away with no self-love.”

The now-ex-couple met in 2009 when Perry filmed a cameo to Brand’s film “Get Him to the Greek.” They began dating months after, and then got married in October 2010 in India. He filed for divorce in December 2011, and it was finalised in 2012.

She previously revealed that Brand informed her of his desire to divorce her through a text message. She hadn’t heard from him since he sent that SMS.
