Russell Brand believes the media is Islamophobic. He thinks the Ottawa incident does not deserve an anti-Islamic narrative.

Russel Brand, Katy Perry's ex and comedian says that conspiracy theories are not a pile of hogwash. In fact, he's very open-minded about these theories because what they are proposing could be very well, real possibilities. This statement on BBC's Newsnight cause him to receive a lot of backlash.

"We have to remain open-minded to any kind of possibility," Brand shared to the host, Evan Davis."Do you trust the American government? Do you trust the British government? What I do think is very interesting is the relationship that the Bush family have had for a long time with the bin Laden family."

He was not shy to speak right out what he thinks of the media, even against BBC. He shared that it is interesting that even BBC reported the events that transpired in Ottawa with a hint of anti-Islamic narrative.

Despite all the backlash, BBC was firm on its decision that it was not a mistake to invite Brand on the show. "Love him or loathe him Russell Brand has been one of the most eloquent voices articulating the anti-politics mood that all British politicians are currently struggling to engage with," BBC's statement read.

Brand has never been known to hold back on what he feels he got to say in the political arena. Just last week, he showed up uninvited at the Fox News Headquarters in New York City. Holding a camera, he posed as a reporter and went around asking people on the street with regard Muslims. Specifically, he asked people if they believe that the American media is being Islamophobic. After stirring quite a scene, he was asked to leave the premises. E! News learned from a Fox News representative that the comedian has no schedules to appear on the network.

Meanwhile, he told a reporter of Financial Times that he's ready to give up acting because he's not keen on making money anymore. He'll just devote his time to doing comedic performances and criticizing the government.
