Russell Crowe is a lot of things, but not a pervert he is not. The New Zealand-born actor tweeted a woman’s pubic region, only to take it down immediately, saying that his Twitter account got hacked.

The “Man of Steel” star said sorry to his followers for the offensive photo of a “pubic region” of a woman, which he purportedly alluded to a hairstyle worn by Orthodox Jewish men.

He quickly deleted the photo, explaining to his fans that he did not put that up.

“Hey, I don’t know what that was. Just having a chat with Dani when the phone went ballistic. Sorry, gone,” he tweeted.

His management also told news.com.au that Crowe’s account was hacked.

The “Dani” he mentioned in his tweet is assumed to be his wife, Australian singer Danielle Spencer, whom he married in 2003. They have two sons together, though it has been reported that they are separated for nine months now.

But despite their rumoured split, Crowe and Spencer seemed to be friendly with each other. They are currently in Los Angeles for a vacation with their kids, according to eonline.com.

This isn’t the first time Crowe made headlines for posting something bizarre on his Twitter. In March, the 49-year-old actor claimed he captured several UFOs over Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens.

“A friend and I set camera to capture fruit bats rising from Botanic Gardens. This was a big surprise,” he wrote, attaching a video.

It turned out that the 23-second footage was actually shot four years ago by Duane Manwiller, a friend of the actor.

When asked why Crowe chose to release years after, his manager, Grand Vandenberg, told Confidential, “I have no idea.”
