It was just recently reported that director Darren Aronofsky is thinking about getting Russell Crowe to play the lead role in the soon to be made epic movie 'Noah.' Now, it seems that official talks are paying off with Variety reporting that the Aussie actor is already in the process of taking on the said character.

The Biblical based film is eyed to be spending about $130 million and Aronofsky himself was keen too on getting Christian Bale to play Noah but not until the actor said that his schedule is too tight already as he is already working on two movies. Liam Neeson's name was also on the list of prospects but for another part in the same movie.

If Russell Crowe will confirm signing on, then the film production will begin as early as July for it to meet its target release date of 2013. This film is set to be the first post 'Black Swan' project of Aronofsky. And everyone seems to be excited with his approach and take on this Biblical epic and character of Noah.

As for Russell playing the part, no doubt he can be able to deliver things well since this is not the first time that he played a role who is close to the seas. The Oscar winning actor once played as Capt. Jack Aubrey for the long running 'Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.'

Paramount and New Regency will partner up to finance the film project while Aronofsky has teamed with Ari Handel in writing the first few drafts of the script. John Logan, the name behind the scripts of 'Rango' and 'Hugo' is also included in the rewriting process.

So do you think Russell Crowe is the right guy to play the role of Noah?
