Russian leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky advised U.S. President Barack Obama to divorce his wife Michelle Obama in order to become a better leader. The Liberal Democratic Party politician is well-known for issuing outrageous statements.

The Moscow Times reported that Mr Zhirinovsky suggested that Mr Obama's wife is a "distraction." He believes that every world leaders must engage in celibacy otherwise there is every possibility that the leader may get distracted from his responsibilities. Mr Zhirinovsky mentioned Monica Lewinsky and held her responsible for ruining former U.S. President Bill Clinton.

Similarly, he indicated that the first lady of the United States had already started the "process." He said that it was evident by the wrinkles on Mr Obama's face. Mr Zhirinovsky, on the other hand, did not care to comment if Russian President Vladimir Putin became more effective as a leader after he had had his divorce in 2013.

This is, nevertheless, not the first time when Mr Zhirinovsky made such a controversial comment. Earlier in January, he demanded that State Duma deputies should not have sex more than three or four times in a year. More sex is not better sex even though pornography may teach so to the younger generation, the 67-year-old politician argued. He said that having sex once in a quarter should be "standard."

Mr Obama, on the other hand, may presently be battling with the rumours about his divorce making the rounds at the moment [Read Here]. The provocative comment by the Russian politician may fan the fire a bit more in this case. It is yet to be made clear if Mr Zhirinovsky's comments had anything to do with the on-going rumours.

Mr Zhirinovsky is no stranger in becoming the self-proclaimed therapist who comments even on how much officials should weigh. He made many misogynist comments in the past. According to him, women are responsible for all the crimes committed in the world.
