"Avengers: Age of Ultron" may be the last movie from the franchise that director Joss Whedon will be involved with. Anthony and Joe Russo may take over the franchise for the next two movies planned for the franchise. The report has so far not been confirmed by the producers.

The email exchanges that were reportedly leaked, after Sony servers were hacked, are said to have been the source behind the new report. According to Inquisitr, The Russo brothers said in an email exchange to Sony Entertainment Chairman Amy Pascal that they are ready to direct the next two planned movies from the "Avengers" franchise that are slated to be released in 2018 and 2019.

However the new projects will not come in the way of the Russo brother's other project, according to the report. The two are said to have agreed to direct the movie "The Gray Man." The plot or cast details of the movie are still not available.

The producers and Joss Whedon have not confirmed that "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be his last movie as director for the franchise. This is the second movie from the franchise that the director is involved with. The 2012 movie from the franchise was a big hit at the box office. It is still unclear what other big projects the director plans to take up next.

Joss Whedon gained popularity after directing TV shows like "Firefly," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel." He also directed the pilot episode of "Agents of S.HI.E.L.D." His other projects include "Dollhouse" and "Glee."

Anthony and Joe Russo are currently busy with their upcoming movie "Captain America: Civil War." The two brothers have also directed the 2014 movie "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and the upcoming movie is the continuing story of the superhero after the events of "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be the turning point that will set the superheroes on different paths before they join hands again in the 2018 movie to take on the super villain Thanos. Although Joss Whedon will reportedly not be directing the 2018 movie, he may be involved in some other capacity that may include writing or producing or both.
