Is Blue Valentine star Ryan Gosling and Blake Lively dating? Repeated sightings of the Gosling and the Gossip Girls lead star had sparked rumours that they are romantically involved.

Gosling and Lively had been spotted at the afterparty for his movie Blue Valentine at Standard Hotel in New York City last Tuesday Night. The 23-year old actress had used the back door to slip from the premiere of Gosling's latest movie.

A source told E! Online: "They weren't obviously all over each other, but it seemed like they were together."

"There were times when they would be sitting down and he would kind of lay his hand on her knee. They were smiling, laughing, they looked happy!"

Lively and the 30-year old actor were first seen together last October in Disneyland, the same month that Blake broke up with Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley.

In Blue Valentine, Gosling plays Dean while Michelle Williams plays Cindy. Dean's and Cindy's relationship has seen better days as they struggle with the demands and expectations of work and family life. At breaking point, the couple steals away to a hotel as they revisit romantic memories of their courtship. Dean and Cindy have one night to try and rekindle their passion, and save their marriage.

The movie is the only film of 2010 to have received Official Selection at the Sundance, Cannes and Toronto Film Festivals. The performances of Gosling and Williams have already been singled out for early awards attention, as has the direction by Derek Cianfrance.
