Normally when couples go to Paris, their first stop is the Louvre or the Eiffel Tower. Sweethearts Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes went against the mold and took a romantic stroll at the Père Lachaise Cemetery.

The cemetery is one of the largest ones in the city, and houses the remains of prominent people such as Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison and Frédéric Chopin. Gosling and Mendes looked relaxed as they walked around the most famous burial site in Paris, possibly the whole world.

The Hollywood pair continued their spookfest at their next stop, the Catacombs of Paris, where nearly 6 million Parisians are buried in underground. It is a historical landmark, albeit a little unconventional for a date.

Mendes is currently shooting for her new film "Holly Motors" in Paris, where she stars with Kylie Minogue and Michel Piccoli. Mendes' newest beau Gosling tagged along in the city of love for some quality time.

"The Place Beyond The Pines" co-stars have been spotted out and about since the beginning of September.

A source tells US Weekly the duo "have been friends for a long time."

"There's always been this strong chemistry between them. This was just a matter of time," the insider adds.

It seems the Latina beauty has more than just a few girls to contend with when it comes to Gosling's heart, she's also competing with history.

Just after the pair was first snapped together in Disneyland, Gosling revealed he finds it difficult to get a girlfriend who could compare to ex-girlfriends Rachel McAdams and Sandra Bullock.

"I had two of the greatest girlfriends of all time. I haven't met anybody who could top them," Gosling tells U.K.'s The Times.

He also says when he finds the right person to start a family with, he would consider retiring.

"I'd like to be making babies but I'm not so I'm making movies. When someone comes along I don't think I'll be able to do both and I'm fine with that. I'll make movies until I make babies," Gosling explains.
