Ryan Gosling And Eva Mendes Name Their Baby Esmeralda, Which Means Emerald In Spanish
What's in a name? Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have decided that there is a lot in it, and have named their newborn daughter Esmeralda Amada Gosling, according to Celebrity. The star baby's birth certificate was out for public consumption on Thursday, October 9, and confirms that she was born last month at 10.22 a.m. in Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California.
Eva had wanted to link her child's name to her family. Esmerelda, which means 'emerald' in Spanish, and sounds like a royal name from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. The 40-year-old actress had been Esmeralda in TV series "V.I.P" in 1999 and Amada Juarez in Mark Wahlberg's 2007 crime drama, "We Own The Night." Perhaps that had stuck!
Gosling, 33, and Mendes, 40, are "famously private" parents. They co-starred in 2012's "The Place Beyond the Pines" and have been dating since September 2011. On Sept. 12 this year, they were ecstatic that they got a baby girl. The new father is reported to be a little nervous, according to E. But he had always been brought up without a father, and was particular that when he got a baby, he would always be around. "Ryan is very hands on. Changes diapers, rocks her to sleep - they gave her her first bath together and videotaped the whole thing," an insider told E News. Eva too is reported to be "absolutely in heaven" after having got a baby. She and Ryan are "just in awe of this beautiful person they created." Everything has turned out to be a special time for them.
Eva's pregnancy had been secretive, and she made her final appearance on February end during a dinner. The Hitch actress had tried to hide her pregnancy when she was photographed in June, and again in August. But rumours had already begun to make the rounds in February when she had refused to pass through the body scanner at the airport, and the murmurs began to spread in the grapevine, according to NY daily.
Ryan had been loving and concerned about during pregnancy. He reportedly went out to buy all the groceries for the house. When Eva wanted pasta, he made it for her. Ryan had already stepped into the role of caring father-to-be. Eva's brother, who had held the baby with the entire family after it was born, confirmed that the couple wanted to look after the baby on their own, behind closed doors, and were sharing its sleepless nights and lack of schedules, according to E.
