Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams were a couple on screen and off screen. The two have had a great 2 years together as a couple, and the "Mean Girls" actress was called by Gosling as one of "the greatest loves of his life."

Nonetheless, the two have split, and Gosling is now known to be dating his co-star from the movie "Land Beyond the Pines," Eva Mendes. Rachel McAdams dated Michael Sheen, 44, a welsh actor who starred in the "Twilight" franchise and in the "Underworld" trilogy.

McAdams and Sheen split in February of this year after being engaged, according to rumors. Sheen is also the father of a 14-year-old to Kate Beckinsale, co-star in the "Underworld" franchise and former flame.

After the split, Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling have been talking with each other a lot, and this seemed to be a problem for Eva Mendes, according to sources. An interview gathered from a mutual friend of the star in Now Magazine gave his/her view on the "keeping in touch" the two stars have been doing:

"Rachel's always kept in touch with Ryan, but now that she's split with Michael, she's been calling him and using him as a shoulder to cry on. It hasn't gone down very well with Eva, to say the least, but Ryan wants to be there as a friend for his ex."

Mendes may have a reason to be a little jealous of Rachel McAdams. The two "Notebook" stars were said to have been engaged prior their split, and Gosling had said in an interview in GQ way back in 2007 that:

"God bless The Notebook. It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that."

We sure hope the two get back together. They had always seemed a perfect match for each other, and the look that Gosling had for Rachel McAdams was just one of a kind.
