Sam and Phoebe Burgess honeymoon with sharks in Maldives, share romantic snaps

South Sydney Rabbitohs player Sam Burgess and Phoebe Hooke had a beautiful Bowral wedding in December 2015, a perfect finish to the rugby star’s successful year. Now, the newlyweds have shared snaps of their luxurious Maldives honeymoon. The couple has chosen to stay away from traditional honeymoon delights and are swimming with sharks instead. Phoebe has posted photos where they are seen enjoying the island paradise vacation amidst crystal clear blue ocean.

“We swam with a shark this morning and lived to 'gram' the tale,” Phoebe captioned a photo where the two are seen snorkelling underwater.

Phoebe is so smitten with love and is so proud to be married to Sam that she renamed her Instagram handle – “@mrsphoebeburgess,” reports The Sydney Morning Herald. She was a former writer for magazines Dolly and Cleo and is now training to be a pilates instructor.

Both of them love sharks equally and have probably been planning a honeymoon with sharks for a long time. Even the rugby star Sam Burgess took to Instagram to express his excitement.

“Still bringing in 2016 with @mrsphoebeburgess !! 4 sharks swam past as we ate dinner tonight. Amazing. Happy new year everyone Xxx may all your dreams come true,” Sam captioned one of the photos where the two are seen sharing a drink.

Sam has also posted an underwater photo of him with his thumb up. He states that it has taken five days to capture a shark in the wild.

Sam and Phoebe Burgess dated for 18 months before getting married. Last year, the couple had moved to Bath, England but have moved back to Sydney as Sam has started training with the Russell Crowe owned Rabbitohs for the 2016 NRL season.

The Sam Burgess-Phoebe Hooke wedding took place at Hooke’s father Mitch Hooke’s expansive Southern Highlands horse stud. Phoebe’s father is a political lobbyist and former Minerals Council boss. There were about 150 guests at the estate for the wedding. Rabbitohs star Burgess was dressed in a Giorgio Armani suit while Hooke looked beautiful in an Alex Perry gown.

Phoebe had her “hen party” at Woolloomooloo's China Doll restaurant with her girlfriends, her mother-in-law Julie Burgess and the rugby star’s grandmother Val. The Sam and Phoebe Burgess wedding was initially scheduled to take place early New Year. But they got married in December and now the two are spending a shark-filled adventurous honeymoon at Maldives.
