Samsung, Apple’s Top Rival To Supply Display Panels For iPad Pro
Tension Between the Two Companies Very Obvious
The 12.9 inch iPad Pro and the second generation iPad Air will sport Samsung display panels. MacRumors state that Samsung will supply display panels to Apple. This information was reported in a Korean news channel, inews24. These panels will feature IPS technology that is similar to the present line of iPads manufactured by Apple. The Korean giant will manufacture the display in the coming months.
Apple may set the launch of its iPad Air 2 in the coming holiday season. If these reports are indeed true then Apple will have a steady supply of panels for its first batch of iPad Air 2 units. The iPad Pro, Apples new tablet will sport a 12.9 inch display that is supplied by other manufacturers. If these suppliers are not able to meet the demand of the panels required by Apple, Samsung will become its top supplier.
There was an obvious tension between Samsung and Apple. These two companies are top competitors and rivals in the mobile market. Apple is trying to reduce its dependence on Samsung as their component supplier. Samsung is a company well known for its high technological standards and are capable of producing and supplying large quantities of the display. It was very valuable to Apple over the years even before Samsung became Apple's top iPad display supplier in the first quarter of 2014.
According to rumours Apple iPad Air 2 will sport a slightly slimmer body and will have a faster A8 processor under its hood. The 2 GB of RAM will help the processor to do its tasks without lags. The tablet will also support the new Apple Pay along with the Touch ID and fingerprint sensor.
The iPad Pro will have a display of 12.9 inches and is said to be powered by a very powerful A 8X processor. The tablet will need the faster processor due to its high resolution display and large screen size.
