Samsung has nudged most of its tablet stable into the JellyBean 4.1 fold, announcing last week that the Galaxy Note 10.1 and the all the Galaxy Tab 2 variants will be updated to the not-so-latest Android flavour.

The upgrade in particular will "further boost the capabilities of Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1," said the South Korean tech giant in a statement. The rollout, however, will initially benefit U.S.-based owners of the Samsung Galaxy tablets in Wi-Fi. No word yet on when the same patch will be dispatch for the slates with cellular connectivity.

This JellyBean jump will hardly kick up the unique Samsung device servings on the underpowered Galaxy Tab 2 but at least the mass-geared products would get some performance boosts, courtesy, of course, by the native Android tweaks.

With Premium Suite, earlier seen on the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, now on the Note 10.1, the flagship Samsung tablet's multi-tasking and productivity attributes are further enhanced, the company said.

"Users will enjoy improved S-Pen support and the ability to easily open and resize multiple apps, then view them across the screen layered on top of each other," Samsung said.

But for many Galaxy tablet owners, the most exciting addition that will come with the JellyBean arrival is Google Now, seen by tech experts as Android's 'hulking version' of Apple's Siri.

Samsung tablet owners will surely appreciate having a virtual assistant on stand-by to help out on their productivity tasks, experts added.

JellyBean for the Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 will be served over-the-air (OTA) and through Samsung Kies, the company said, so the update procedure should proceed with ease.

For OTA, simply tap on the gadget's Settings, on to About Device and Check Update. When the update file is hanging on the air, authorise the whole process while ensuring that your tablet is fully-charged.

If accessing via Kies, connect the device to PC where the Samsung device management suite is installed. In most cases, Kies will automatically notify you if a firmware update is available.
