Samsung Galaxy S3 rumours of Android 4.2.2 update skipping over Android 4.3 Jelly Bean has been confirmed and it is now drawing near. November 2013 was the expected release date of the Android 4.2.2 for Galaxy S3 but it seems like Samsung decided to make Android 4.3 instead.

No More Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean: Go with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

Temefy Web site confirmed that Samsung is finally scrapping the official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for Galaxy S3 and will go straight to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean instead. The report has been sourced out from an unnamed Samsung R&D insider in India.

"The insider also suggests that Samsung might skip the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update altogether due to the introduction of the Vanilla Experience of Jelly Bean 4.3 in Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition," according to Temefy.

Evidence of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for Galaxy S3 Revealed

The same unnamed Samsung insider backed up the photos claiming that the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 model running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It has a Kernel version carried back in February 9, 2013 and reads a build number of JDQ47.I9300XXUFMGQ.

In addition to the Android 4.2.2 being flushed away for Galaxy S3, Samsung already started working with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Note 2 and expected to be released at the same time with Galaxy S3 official update. Owners of both devices can now rest their anxiety with assurance from the Samsung insider.

Release Date on November 2013

Samsung is still waiting till Google officially launch Android 4.3 Jelly Bean so they can push the update to their phones. However, Galaxy S4 would likely to be the first to receive the official update since it is one of the initial devices tested to run latest Android version - exclusive privilege as the current flagship.

The insider claims as well that Samsung won't release the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 until November 2013. It is traditional to update older devices later to give way with the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 rumoured to appear at IFA 2013 in September.
