Samsung Delays Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.2.2 Firmware Update Release Date?
A reputable source announced via Tweeter that the Android 4.2.2 firmware update for Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 has been delayed due to software issue.
Android 4.2.2 Update Delay
While it is not confirmed by Samsung, SamMobile claims that the Android 4.2.2 firmware upgrade for the two Galaxy devices has been delayed due to software-related problems with TouchWiz UI. It is unknown how could such problem happens to both devices since the hardware are very compatible.
Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and TouchWiz UX UI have been compatible with one another as seen from Galaxy S4. A RAM of 1GB in Galaxy S3 is found sufficient enough to load the latest TouchWiz from Samsung which won't be a problem as well with Galaxy Note 2.
Galaxy S4 Being Ported to Previous Generation Devices
Samsung has been reported on developing porting solutions of Galaxy S4 UI and apps for other Galaxy devices with hardware compatibility. Recently, an Android 4.2.2 firmware leaked for Galaxy S3, indicating port-solutions of apps, features and UI from Galaxy S4, except the camera.
Due to this further delay of the latest update, owners of Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 3 are stuck in Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware until the problem is resolved.
Good News Over the Delay
Even though the upgrade has been significantly delayed whether by software-related issues or not, it shines the light that Samsung is already developing the much awaited software update. No matter what happens, the company will release the update sooner or later this year with Android 4.2.2 firmware and Galaxy S4 unique features.
Hopefully, Samsung might be able to release the official software upgrade by the end of the third quarter, before or after Android 4.3 and Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie has been released. The company is expected to be more focused after the Android 4.2.2 update for Android 4.3 is not going to stick on the wall forever.
In case you own the devices said above, constantly check your device's Settings for any software update from Over-the-Air procedure.
