Samsung Galaxy Gear Ad a Copycat of Apple iPhone Ad of 2007
Samsung Galaxy gear watch ad is making a mark to all the people who have watched it. The ad was particularly appealing for its concept, storyline and the emotion stirred by how the story was presented.
The ad was nostalgic and cool at the same time.
Critics were impressed by Samsung Galaxy gear watch ad. They had almost the same observation: it was an effective advertisement for a rather bland watch technology. They were quick to discern that the Samsung Galaxy gear watch ad was a successful and impressive "selling" of an otherwise poor product.
As one comment from AppleInsider forum went, "Samsung's Gear isn't really a futuristic wrist-phone like the images from TV shows and movies depicted in its ad. Instead, it is essentially a $300 Bluetooth headset strapped to the wrist and outfitted with a camera and display. The device requires a user to also carry a Note 3 phablet for it to work at all."
But as for the critics, the ad served its purpose.
"The ad for the Gear shows the device very little and instead rolls a montage of smartwatches used in classic movies and television shows including Dick Tracey, Star Trek, Knight Rider and James Bond. The point of the ad seems to be that after years of having smartwatches serve as cutting-edge technology for our favourite on-screen heroes, Samsung has actually gone ahead and produce one," stated Brad Reed of BGR.
The narrative on how fictional watches were presented before showing the Samsung Galaxy watch was a good idea for Business Insider's Steven Kovach.
"Samsung is positioning it's new Galaxy Gear as "the next big thing" in its first two ads, coyly tapping into our nostalgia for smartwatch tech from properties like Dick Tracy, Knight Rider, Star Trek, and even the Power Rangers. There are only a few brief glimpses of what the Galaxy Gear actually does in these ads - it's mostly relying on the hope of a smartwatch powered future you've always dreamed of," Devindra Hardawar of Venture's Beat wrote.
However, there is one, more important thing about the Samsung Galaxy gear watch tv ad: it resembles the story, concept and presentation of the Apple iPhone TV ad of 2007.
