According to reports, Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 will be the biggest of its kind. Others go as far as saying it will be the monster tablet. What do Samsung have up their sleeves?

It was previously reported that Apple is working on a 13-inch tablet. It seems the rivalry will extend to oversized tablets as reports say Samsung is working on a 12.2-inch slate. Previously categorized in 7, 8, 9 and 10 inches, Samsung is attempting to change the landscape for tablets.

Right after Samsung revealed their Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Gear last month, rumors about another slate surfaced. A few hours following the Samsung event, a report leaked an image showing an enormous tablet. The slate is reportedly under the works for Samsung. It was labeled with the model number SM-P900.

The size alone will differentiate Samsung's product from the rest. Samsung has been successful in diversification so the monster tablet has potential. Apple's iPad measures around 9.5 inches tall and 7.31 inches wide. Google's Nexus 10 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Note 10.1 are all 10-inch tablets.

Samsung's 12.2 will be the biggest in the world if it pushes through.

Analysts see this move as possible since Samsung has been successful with its aggressive product launches. The company has been saturating the market without fail. The most evident example is through the Galaxy S phones. Samsung has released so many variants challenging Nexus handsets and other Android-based products.

The Korean tech giant has also been thriving against Apple.

The ongoing proliferation and aggressive marketing made it possible for Samsung to conquer the US market. The Korean tech giant remains the only handset manufacturer to post a double-digit market share climb. This is as of July 2013.

Currently, Samsung holds around 24.1% of the market. Apple continues to dominate at 40.4% according to a report. The Korean manufacturer has also become successful in the tablet-computer market especially in China. It now ranks second in terms of sales.

Bloomberg reported Samsung gaining a 11% market share in China. There are no signs saying this proliferation in different markets will stop any time soon.

Reported specs of the device include a 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution display, Exynos 5 Octa SoC and S-Pen.
