Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is growing rapidly as reports are stating that it will be unveiled in August and would also get the latest Android update which is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

MK Business News, a Korean site, earlier reported that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be officially unveiled at the IFA Consumer Electronics Trade show which will be held in Berlin, Germany by the end of August. Rumored specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 includes the following:

Display

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 would reportedly have a 5.5-inch touchcreeen display. It is also rumored to have a Super AMOLED display with 1,680 by 1,050 pixel resolution and 360 ppi density.

Processor

In terms of processor, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will supposedly have dual-core Exynos 5250 processor and a quad-core processor. It will also reportedly have 2GB of RAM.

OS

The improved specifications of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was needed in order to utilize the latest Android OS in the market which is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Other Features

Other rumored specifications and features of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 includes a 12MP camera, hardened case, and longer battery life. The rumored UBP (unbreakable plane display) for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was not mentioned again, indicating that this feature would not be utilized in Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Release Date and Price

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is set to be revealed by the end of August, 2012 and its selling price is still unknown as of the moment.

Samsung Galaxy Note is considered as a "hybrid" because it is smaller than a tablet but considerably larger than the typical smartphones in the market. ABI Research refers to these devices as "phablets". Michael Morgan, a senior analyst at ABI Research, revealed his thoughts about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 stating that "it could be a little ahead of its time. Maybe in a year, when people continuously use less voice, this may become the solution for them because they don't necessarily want to use a tablet or carry around a smartphone." ABI predicted that at least 208 million "phablets" will be shipped globally by the year 2015.
