Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Rumors: ‘Phablet’ to be Powered with the Exynos 5 Octa Processor?
The Exynos 5 Octa Processor has been expected to be incorporated in the upcoming Samsung devices after its official unveiling. With the recent confirmation on the processor's LTE support, the "phablet" Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will reportedly be powered with the remarkable performance of the Exynos 5 Octa chip.
The confirmation came from the Twitter account @SamsungExynos with the posted message that reads: "Update on LTE capability: The #Exynos 5 Octa processor supports LTE and all 20 bands." The Korean technology giant has confirmed as well that the deficiency in LTE compatibility was not the cause as to why the Exynos 5 Octa processor is not included "across the board" in the Samsung Galaxy S4 smart phone.
Supply issues are most likely the reason why Samsung decided to use two different processors with the Galaxy S4 smart phone. For the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the users will no longer have to deal with the "split processor" situation with the supposed inclusion of the Exynos 5 Octa processor in the "phablet."
What makes Samsung's Exynos 5 Octa processor very interesting is the remarkable presence of eight cores on board. Though the chip only utilizes four at a time, Samsung claims that this can still increase the device's performance and battery life compared to the previous Exynos processors.
Other reports on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 indicate that the phablet will feature a flexible and unbreakable screen display that measures at about 5.9 to 6.3 inches compared to the 5.5-inch screen size of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The Galaxy Note 3 is rumored for a scheduled launch in September at the 2013 IFA in Berlin, Germany. The company has already launched the past Galaxy Note models at the said event.
