With the previous note that Samsung will be putting the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 on a backseat to some other of its smart devices, it's not a surprise that recent reports have pointed to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 sharing a number of similar features with the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Form all the rumours and announcements surrounding the two devices, here are the three features that may be found in both once they release in 2014.

16-megapixel camera

One great feature to be shared by both the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 is the 16-megapixel camera. This has first been rumoured for the flagship smartphone. But given that most Galaxy Note devices get the same kind of camera in the Galaxy S of that year's iteration, Sam Mobile reports that it's likely the same will happen for 2014's Galaxy S-Note combo.

This was further supported by the report, which mentions the 181 million 16-megapixel camera modules that have been ordered by Samsung. As far as rumours go, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will also have OIS, but there has been no word yet on whether the same feature will appear on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Wireless charging

The rumours on wireless charging for the Samsung Galaxy S5 have already been brewing alongside the addition of the fingerprint scanner for the smartphone. The latest take on the rumour comes from GalaxyS5Info.com, which points to ET News, a Korean website, as the source.

According to the report, the Korean company is already hard at work on a new wireless technology for its premium devices. In addition, Samsung is working with PowerbyProxy in New Zealand for the wireless charging technology.

Perhaps even though the Samsung Galaxy S5 is only expected to sell a moderate figure, a wireless charging capability may boost the numbers just a bit.

As for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, long distance wireless charging has also been rumoured as reported by TechRadar. It states that magnetic resonance-based wireless charging technology may be the idea behind the new technology for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Basically, what this means is that you just need to be a certain distance from the charge flow in order for it to reach the device. The problem now is that, TechRadar has added the release of the wireless charging technology to be mid-2014, meaning it will be past the Samsung Galaxy S5 expected date, though the Korean company may just add it as an accessory feature.

Android 4.4 Kitkat?

While there have been no direct reports yet in what kind of OS the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy S5 will have, there is a high chance that it will be the latest offering from Google, which is the newly released Android 4.4 Kitkat.

This is taking into consideration what is lined up for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 with regard to the new Android OS.

Gotta Be Mobile reports that the Android 4.4 Kitkat update is already in testing for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which is great news for those who have just bought the new device.

Another report from Slashgear has hinted that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition will be likely the first Samsung device to get the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, meaning at least two of the Korean company's devices will be getting the upgrade.

Since the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 are still in 2014, it's not impossible that Samsung will ensure that they release with the latest OS. Plus, with the company putting more focus on low- and mid-end devices, the Android 4.4 Kitkat may be the best bet in terms of what can be a good OS for all Samsung smart devices.
