Many people all over the world including Australians were eagerly anticipating the release of Samsung Galaxy S III. Now that the Samsung Galaxy S III has already been released in Australia, is it a hit or a miss for Australians?

The release of Samsung Galaxy S III in Australia is considered as a major event as a special event for the launching was held in Sydney. Aside from that, the Samsung Galaxy S III is now offered by major Australian carriers which includes the following: Virgin Mobile, Vodafone, Telstra, and Optus. The Galaxy S III are included in different plans offered by the carriers. The price range for the Galaxy S III is around AU$47 to AU$129. All of the plans for the Samsung Galaxy S III includes a lock-down period of at least two years.

In terms of availability, the Samsung Galaxy S III is certainly in demand especially if it is being offered through different variations. This means that there is a big market for the Galaxy S III in Australia hence the marketing scheme of making it more attractive to Australian customers. Aside from being available through Australian carriers, the Samsung Galaxy S III is also being sold as a unit (without a SIM card) for AU$899 while a SIM-free version is available through Amazon for only US$779.99. As of the moment, the Galaxy S III is only available in "Marble White" and for only 16GB memory storage. People who prefer the "Pebble Blue" model is available through pre-order and customers could get it after 10 days. As for a higher memory capacity (32GB) for Samsung Galaxy S III, it is still marked as "coming soon" as of the moment.

In a review done by Nic Healey in CRN, he decribed the Samsung Galaxy S III as a great Android device. Here is an excerpt from his review:

"In all, Samsung's Galaxy S III is a truly remarkable handset, matching the built up hype in many respects and surpassing it in many others. A few niggles over the design and the perception of flimsiness to the build don't stop us from recommending this smartphone as a great Android device."

The review and market demand for Samsung Galaxy S III seems a very good gauge to assume that the Samsung Galaxy S III is a hit in the Australian market. Though that is the case, there is still one drawback as the 4G LTE version is not yet available in Australia. Customers who have purchased the handset could only utilize its 3G connectivity. Telsta, the only Australian carrier that provides 4G technology is reportedly in talks with Samsung in order to launch its 4G LTE capability.

The Samsung Galaxy S III is the latest in the Galaxy S line from Samsung. It has dimensions of 136.6x70.6x8.6mm and weighs around 133g. It also has a a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED screen with 720x1280 pixels. The Galaxy S III is considered as the first quad-core smartphone from Samsung which has a new Exynos 4212 chip clocked at 1.4GHz. As for its camera features, it has an 8MP camera with back-illuminated sensors (BSI) with 3264x2448 pixels and it utilizes the latest Android version which is Android 4.0 or Android ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich).
