Official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean was revealed recently for the Samsung Galaxy S3 and reported to be released on July 2013. However, due to several speculations, it is believed that the update may be released on November instead. Now with Samsung's Q2 2013 earnings forecast, is there a chance to speed up the Android 4.2.2 release for Galaxy S3?

Samsung 2nd Quarter Earnings Forecast

Samsung kept its pace regardless with the "weak" long term sales of the Galaxy S4. The company pulled in around $50 billion in revenue and around $8.3 billion in profit. Even if the figure sounds so good, investors haven't left out the concerns regarding Samsung's stock shares drop. It is because investors were expecting $8.9 billion in profit and the South Korean tech giant came up 6.4 per cent shorter.

This figure may point out consumers "not so interested" with Samsung products lately or rivals offering compelling or competitive alternatives which lead to the company's slow down. Sony's Xperia line of devices is considered to be a good alternative against Samsung Galaxy line especially in terms of proofing. Sony offers a wide range of devices such as Xperia V and Xperia Z which are water-resistant, dust-resistant and LTE ready at the same time.

Combining all these thoughts, Galaxy S4 is feared for a possible failure to sell continuously even if it is the fastest-selling Android phone ever according to Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2.2 Official Update

Samsung's current sales figure may create an impact on Galaxy S3's Android 4.2.2 update expected this year, 2013. Earlier reports said that the upcoming update will be out by July but latest speculation indicated a great push to November 2013 instead.

Samsung is avoiding to confuse consumers on choosing between Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3, if the previous flagship gets the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Galaxy S3 is far cheaper and remains powerful relative to Galaxy S4 and people would like to purchase alternative than expensive flagship smartphones.

July to November 2013 Release Date

Samsung could use Google's Android OS to manipulate and boost sales of most Galaxy devices including S4 to make up for its short sales figure. Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie which expected in October 2013 ported to Galaxy S4 will definitely bring back interest of consumers to consider buying the latest flagship due to high anticipation of new features.

Galaxy S3 then can get the much awaited Android 4.2.2 or better with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Instead of grabbing alternatives from other brands, Galaxy S3 can act as one for Galaxy S4 if the two devices will run different Android OS version.

Right now, Samsung hasn't announced any release dates regarding Android 4.2.2 update for Galaxy S3 or if the device will receive Android 4.3 instead. All we can rely on is that the firmware already has a pre-release and Samsung Galaxy S4 is running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Owners can expect the official firmware update to be released sometime from July to November 2013.
