Reports are currently surrounding Samsung regarding the South Korean company's plan of expanding and upgrading the Samsung Galaxy S4 smart phone family. Aside from the reported Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, another smart phone variant called Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will arrive in July simultaneously with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will reportedly be the jagged and waterproof variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 to compete with the Sony Xperia Z smart phone. According to the SamMobile report, the release dates for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and Mini will be from July 15 to 21 while Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom will have an earlier release schedule on June 3 to June 9.

Web site SamMobile's list on the summer release dates of Samsung devices indicates that the Galaxy S4 Active will be available in metallic orange color. The Galaxy S4 Zoom will be offered in black and white color choices as well as the Galaxy S4 Mini.

Features and specifications of the three new Samsung Galaxy smart phone variants will be based on the existing Samsung Galaxy S4 flagship with certain enhancements. The latest Samsung smart phone has a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED screen display with 1920x1080p resolution, a 1.6GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13MP rear-facing camera and 2MP front facing camera.

The internal storage capacities available are 16GB, 32GB and 64GB with a microSD card slot for additional 64GB memory storage. Other features and specs include the polycarbonate body, Smart Pause, the floating touch technology and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

SamMobile claims that Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom will have similar Samsung Galaxy Camera features. The Galaxy camera was released in 2012 with the 16.3MP CMOS sensor and 21x optical zoom capable of capturing Full 1080p HD images or videos at 30fps.

However, technology giant Samsung has not yet given any comments to confirm or deny the circulating reports on the new Samsung Galaxy S4 smart phone variants.
