Samsung Galaxy S4 Active Now Official with IP67 Certification for Dust & Water Protection

Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S4 active featuring its notable asset - the dust and water protection to the newly-designed body.

The South Korean tech giant announced the Galaxy S4, designed for exploration, activity and adventure. Samsung also announced the IP67 certification of the device, having dust-proof and waterproof qualities.

"The Galaxy S4 Active is the newest addition to the Galaxy series and is purposefully designed for active users who love the outdoors. Samsung has taken the innovative features of the Galaxy S4 and added breakthrough protective design elements to create a device that thrives in an active environment and is built for a lifestyle of travel and exploration," said JK Shin, CEO and president of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics.

Dust-proof and Waterproof Capabilities

Samsung Galaxy S4 Active can capture images using its 8MP camera and may also use "Aqua mode" to increase the visual quality and clarity of all underwater captured images and videos. The device lasts up to 30 minutes underwater before taking water damage and can be submerged up to 1 meter of depth.

You can also take your Galaxy S4 Active to the beach or mountain for hiking without worrying about dust, ruining your screen display. The fully sealed design keeps dust particles out from the device all day long. In addition, the device is also provided with water-resistant earphone jack so owners can use earphones in more adventurous conditions.

S Travel or Trip Advisor: Offers travel assistance, local information and recommendations to provide more seamless experience in an unfamiliar environment.

S Translator: Makes translation via text or speech in emails or SMS between two languages.

Camera Interface: Multiple shooting features have been added to create meaningful moments. Shooting modes include Drama Shot, Sound & Shot and Story Album.

S Health: Keep track of your physical activity in the outdoors with complete health statistics of your heart rate, weight, sleep pattern and other health measurements.

Other features include Samsung Smart Pause to control screen using optical cues, Air View for content preview by hovering fingers over the screen and Air Gesture to change music track, scroll Web pages or accept incoming call with a wave of your hand.
