Samsung Galaxy S4 Review: How the New Updates Stack up
With so many new smartphones in the market Samsung Galaxy S4 review becomes necessary to see if the device still has enough juice left to make an impression, especially with the new updates of the phone.
Design and Display:
Still one of the major factors working for Samsung Galaxy S4 is the display size; the 5 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen renders 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. There is a huge demand for the big screen phones and rivals like Apple have not catered to this segment.
Corning Gorilla Glass 3 provides scratch resistance to the phone. It has 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm dimensions and weighs 130 grams. The phone may not be as rugged as the Active variant of the phone, but is good for regular use.
Hardware and Operating System:
In terms of the hardware the Samsung Galaxy S4 is still comparable to the newly launched smartphones in the market. It comes with an exynos 5 Octa chipset and quad core 1.6GHz cortex A15 processor or quad core 1.2GHz cortex-A7 processor.
The device comes with 2 GB RAM which is comparable to many of the newly launched smartphones that still come with 1 GB RAM. The phone is available in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB internal memory options and can be expanded by up to 64 GB via a Micro SD card.
The phone uses Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which can be upgraded to the latest KitKat 4.4 version.
Camera:
The Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a 13 MP with regular features like auto focus and LED flash. It is still comparable to many of the newly launched smartphone which come with either a 13 MP or even an 8 MP camera.
The sensors of the phone are also an important factor though, so a lower MP camera with a good lens and camera sensor may out perform a higher MP camera. It depends on the needs of the users and individual tastes.
Battery:
The Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery that offers talk time of up to 17 hours on 3G or music play of up to 62 hours. The battery is still comparable to the newly launched flagship smartphones by rival companies.
New Colour Offering:
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is available in two new colours, the gold pink and the gold brown colours were recently launched in the Gulf countries. The new colour offerings are expected to be launched in the international markets as well.

Price in Australia:
