Samsung Galaxy S4 vs Note 3 on Android 4.4 Speed Test [VIDEO]
The Android 4.4 KitKat update slowly rolls out to various devices and Samsung handset owners are now keenly waiting for the upgrade to reach their devices. Recently, there have been previews of Android 4.4 KitKat on the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 shown online and it is now time to have a Samsung Galaxy S4 vs. Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 speed test.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 update has already arrived to the devices of some fortunate owners but it could still take a while for it to completely roll out to every carrier and region worldwide. An Android 4.4 KitKat update build was leaked and made available for the Galaxy S4 recently but most owners still choose to wait for the update to officially push out.
People who have chosen to install the leaked Android 4.4 KitKat update build have recently showed previews, Internet speeds and benchmarks of Android 4.4 on the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3. There are slight UI changes like the white icons and its transparent status bar. The new features include the ability to choose your default launcher from settings. These include third party ones or choosing your default messaging apps like Hangouts, etc.
The next step is to compare the start up speed of the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy S4 running Android 4.4 KitKat. See the YouTube video embedded below to see the results. First, it was pointed out that the Galaxy S4 used in the test uses a 1.9 GHz SnapDragon 600 quad core CPU while the Galaxy Note 3 uses a 2.3 GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon 800 quad core processor. Both smartphones are running the latest Android 4.4 KitKat firmware.
The first thing shown on the video is that both smartphones are faster now to unlock than with the previous firmware. The reviewer heads to the Settings to show that both devices are running Android 4.4.2. The handsets were then restarted and it shows that the Galaxy Note 3 powers up quicker than the Galaxy S4 but the difference is not really significant. The video also shows a new feature with the Samsung Music app shown on the Galaxy Note 3.
