As suspected, Samsung's Galaxy S4 is equipped with monster features that allowed the upcoming Android smartphone to top the list of handsets recently tested for browsing brawns.

According to UberGizmo, the yet-to-be released Samsung handset topped the competitions that include Apple's iPhone 5, the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note and one Xperia variant from Sony.

The report cited the benchmark result provided by Rightware, where the Galaxy S4 was listed as the GT-i9500.

This is the same variant that numerous blog reports said is intended for the U.S. release, drawing its power from Qualcomm's 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 CPU.

Another edition is the GT-i9400, which Samsung is reputedly rolling out for the international market. In this package, the powerhouse is rumoured to be an Exynos chip but the exact make is yet to be confirmed.

While the results were hardly suggestive of the real power that will be unwrapped with the S4 on March 14, the benchmark pointed to "a good memory sub-system comparator," UberGizmo said.

It should be noted too that while "the scores typically don't scale linearly with the underlying hardware performance ... JavaScript benchmarks do stress the virtual machine implementation," the report added.

When connected with the bigger picture, the benchmark partly confirmed that the muscle to come with the Galaxy S4 is endowed with the power not seen from its predecessor, the Galaxy S3, analysts said.

Though not suggestive of actual CPU might, the Rightware figures, at least, were not too remote with the perceived abilities of the S4 handsets that are flexing either the Snapdragon or the Exynos, the same report said.

Speculations abound about the Galaxy S4 but the actual wares it will display remain under wrap only a few days before it is uncloaked by Samsung in New York.

Much-awaited is the new body design and make that could see the new Galaxy S member taking on a new aluminium chassis or retaining the plastic material is characteristic of Samsung's flagship mobile phone, including the bigger Galaxy Note 2.

The display technology to be used on the S4 also poses mystery for many as earlier reports indicated that Super AMOLED display panel production has encountered glitch and was replaced by a different panel component.

Notwithstanding what's inside the Galaxy S4, experts believe that it is a sure-fire hit and garner the numbers for Samsung to regain the global smartphone leadership by the end of Q2 2013.
