Samsung has confirmed the availability of a wireless charging kit in the US for a package price of $90. The Samsung kit comprises of a pad and a separate cover that can utilize the Qi wireless charger similar to the technology that the Google Nexus 4 smart phone uses.

The report on Samsung's announcement on the wireless charging kit reads: "The promise of wireless charging for the Galaxy S4 is now met. For $40, you can get a compatible back plate while $50 adds a wireless charging pad. Both are Qi compatible, which may be the best news of all."

Since Samsung uses the Qi wireless power charging standard, any smart phone with the Qi support can be recharged as well on the pad. It means that smart phone owners that already own the Qi wireless charger will only have the trouble of purchasing the separate cover for the Samsung Galaxy S4 at a price of $39.99.

The separate price of the charging pad is worth $49.99. With the Samsung Galaxy S4 wireless charging kit, the owners can now experience lesser wiring troubles and worries of constantly plugging and unplugging the smart phone.

The charging pad is not really a wireless gadget since it must be plugged in to a wall outlet. However, it will be easier for the owner to just grab their Galaxy S4 and go since wires are not attached to the smart phone.

The charger can supply power to the smart phone at 650mA. The wireless charging kit still allows the NFC capability of the Samsung Galaxy S4 to function properly.

The wireless charging pad has edges that are curved upwards. Galaxy S4 owners will no longer have to worry about the smart phone slipping of the charger with the edges' curved upward design.
