Samsung Galaxy S4 received negative remarks about its plastic casing unlike with HTC One which is covered by aluminium chassis. However, new talks arise with Galaxy S5 to feature full metal body, the first Samsung flagship phone denying plastic exterior.

Future Flagship Samsung Devices with Metal Body

Samsung's Galaxy line may feature metal body in the future and leaves polycarbonate exterior in history according to report issued. The rumoured Galaxy S5 will be housed in an all-metal chassis according to the Korean Web site ETNews caught by Android Authority.

Galaxy S4 has been a disappointed due to the polycarbonate material used by Samsung to the 2013 Android flagship phone. Although the handset is still selling like hot cakes, it is undeniable look cheaper compared with premium designs of HTC One and Sony Xperia Z.

Plastic vs. Metallic Body

Samsung Galaxy S4 has one strong competitor in the high-end Android smartphone category - the HTC One. Despite the great success of polycarbonate exterior of the Galaxy line, Samsung still needs to improve the overall design to make it premium by embracing metallic materials.

Some rumours said that Samsung planned to go metal for the Galaxy Note 3. However, Samsung hasn't demoed the product yet which everyone is expecting at the IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany.

Plastic materials used by Samsung became sources of issue about devices exploding or overheating. Reports by consumers point the cheap components used by the company which resulted to hardware problems plaguing the Galaxy line.

Samsung will be making a good decision by using metal body for their upcoming products but buyers can suffer on dealing with price tags. HTC and Sony are known for selling phones in such high prices unlike with Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S5

Nine months from now, Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy S5 and will become the 2014 flagship smartphone. Reports indicate that the device will feature metallic chassis and a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation. No details yet about its software and exclusive apps but Galaxy S5 could feature Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie if Google releases it before 2013 ends.
