Samsung has been finding it difficult to outsell Apple's iPhones, the company may hope to change this with the release of the Galaxy S6. A new leak suggests that the company may be looking at an overhaul and rebranding exercise by replacing the S series with an F series.

According to an unverified tip received by the evleaks, Samsung maybe ending the S series and the Samsung Galaxy S6 maybe named as the Galaxy F. The change would mean that there will not be anymore smartphones from the S series and a new F series will take its place.

Evleaks has been credited with leaking the images and specs of many smartphones before their official launch. According to the leaked information the Samsung Galaxy S6 may be getting an upgrade in the screen resolution and computing power.

According to the leak Samsung Galaxy S6 will come with a 5.3-inch screen with a QHD display resolution and feature a Snapdragon 805 chipset. The launch event for the device is tipped to be "Unpacked Ep. 2."

Many of the analysts have expected the next flagship smartphones to come with a QHD display screen and the Snapdragon 805 is also expected. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 5.1-inch screen, rendering 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and has a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset.

Among the competition LG recently launched the LG G3 smartphone with a QHD display and other smartphone manufacturers are expected to follow suit soon. The Snapdragon 805 is expected to feature in the upcoming devices Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime and the HTC One M8 Prime.

The Snapdragon 805 chip will allow the Samsung Galaxy S6 to feature a higher resolution; a 4k resolution will finally be made possible. Additionally the chip is expected to lower power consumption, which will lead to better battery life. The chip will also significantly improve the performance of the smartphone in terms of the computing power.

Samsung is expected to hold a launch event around the IFA Trade Fair in September. The Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be unveiled during the event. More details about the Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy F may be made available at the event.
