The Samsung Galaxy experience is no longer confined to the fun realm. With the introduction of Samsung SAFE with Knox, the South Korean firm offers secured productivity moments for Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 users.

The new security suite is geared for S3 and Note 2 deployment and will allow owners of the flagship handsets to "switch between their business and personal lives without switching phones," Gotta Be Mobile said in a report.

Clearly, Samsung's agenda is to encroach on the territory previously ruled by BlackBerry and now considered an Apple turf.

Scheduled for integration with select Galaxy handsets later this year, SAFE with Knox will bring in a screen icon that when tapped allows users to switch from personal screen environment to business profile.

This solution offers maximised productivity, Samsung said, as it encourages mobile working and eliminates the purchase of a separate work handset at the same time.

For example, "users can tap a work icon to enter a secure password that flips them into a work environment that looks slightly different from the average Samsung Galaxy S3 interface," Gotta Be Mobile said on its report.

Within that sphere, users can access work-related data and helpful apps that were pre-selected by employers.

Samsung aims to bring in more enterprise users to the high-end Galaxy fold by introducing smartphones that promote productivity with the required security looked for by top-tier firms.

Among the new security features that come with SAFE with Knox are Security Enhanced (SE) Android, secure booting, Single Sign On (SSO) and TrustZone based Integrity Monitoring (TIMA), Samsung said.

It is likely that SAFE with Knox will have a detailed preview during the announced unveiling of the Galaxy S4 on March 14, which Samsung will stage in New York.

Samsung has indicated that owners of Galaxy S3 and Note 2 already in circulation will start getting the security update on late June this year and dispatch is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Samsung is gunning to cover 65 countries around the world for the premium security features of its top of the line Galaxy smartphones, Gotta Be Mobile said.
