Samsung to launch Apple’s Live Photos-like feature in upcoming Galaxy S7
The feature will produce gif images without capturing any sound
Apple’s arch rival Samsung is planning to launch a feature similar to Live Photos with the upcoming Galaxy S7 smartphone. Live Photos was introduced by Apple in iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
A Samsung software engineer tipped that the feature will be named either Timeless Photos or Vivid Photos, reports Android Geeks. This feature will also be rolled out via future software updates to other Galaxy devices too.
NDTV reports that the feature will produce gif images without capturing any sound with the photo. Users will be able to upload images on Facebook or other social media and share it efficiently. However, no official statements were recorded to confirm the news.
Another report suggests that the South Korean tech giant intends to launch three variants of Galaxy S7 which will be Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy Edge Plus. The Mobile World Congress 2016 event would be utilized to launch these devices and is scheduled from Feb.22 to Feb.25, according to reports.
Previous rumours said that Samsung would conduct Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event which would be scheduled for Feb.20, will see the launch of the supposed devices.
While specifications are concerned, Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to possess features like iris scanner and advanced hardware specifications. The device is said to have 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display along with QHD 1440x2560 pixel resolution. While, the Edge variant will sport a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD 1440x2560 pixel resolution, cites NDTV.
Rumour has it that both handsets will be powered by either Exynos 8 octa-core (Exynos 8890) or Snapdragon 820 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM. In terms of camera, both will be equipped with 12MP camera along with f/1.7 aperture, and the devices will arrive in two different storage models: 32GB model and 64GB model. Both will support expandable storage feature that is rated up to 200GB (via microSD card).
