"I love spending time with Sandra, and as a writer, writing for Sandra is one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I would hope that it wouldn't be happening -- but I also know Sandra, and I know that it's time for her to have new challenges," Shonda Rhimes told The Hollywood Reporter.

Cristina Yang is one of the most beloved characters in Grey's Anatomy. As Meredith Grey's best friend, Sandra Oh has always been brilliant in playing such a fiery character. But the time has come for Cristina to be let go, Oh said.

Sandra Oh went trending on Twitter soon after The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Cristina Yang will exit the series after Grey's Anatomy Season 10.

There is no word yet whether Cristina Yang will die like Mark Sloan (Eric Dane), Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) and George O'Malley (T.R. Knight). But avid Yang and Crowen fans are already inconsolable. A lot of Crowen followers were still hopeful that Cristina and Owen Hunt will find a way to still be together. Until reports of Yang's imminent exit came out.
